Armenian Karate Team Wins 16 Medals at Youth Martial Arts Festival in Russia
Armenian Kyokushin karate athletes won 16 medals, including two golds, at the All-Russian Youth Martial Arts Festival in Anapa, Russia, the Armenian Kyokushin Karate Federation said.
Armenia sent 17 athletes to the competition, with all but one returning with a medal. The team finished with two gold, three silver and 11 bronze medals.
Davit Baghdasaryan and Areg Avagyan won gold in their respective categories. Artur Kasemyan, Tigran Baghdasaryan and Hamlet Soghoyan took silver.
Bronze medals went to Narek Koloyan, Eduard Avagyan, Arman Karapetyan, Vladimir Grigoryan, Elen Yepremyan, Alisa Baghdasaryan, Narek Ghukasyan, Maria Jzmejyan, Khachik Babayan, Norvard Torosyan and Arsen Grigoryan.
The Armenian delegation competed under the guidance of Andranik Stepanyan, Arman Margulov and Ruben Stepanyan, with the support of Armenian Kyokushin Karate Federation President Andranik Hakobyan.
The festival, now in its 18th edition, brings together young martial arts competitors from across Russia and participating delegations. Armenia has taken part in the event for three consecutive years.
