Armenia's young programmers delivered one of the country's strongest performances yet at the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics, winning four medals at this year's competition in Lithuania.
The 10th edition of the Olympiad was held in Kaunas from July 24 to 30, bringing together 100 students from 25 countries. Competitors faced two days of challenging algorithmic programming contests modeled after the International Olympiad in Informatics, one of the world's most prestigious computer science competitions for students.

Representing Armenia were Mamikon Hambaryan, a ninth-grade student at Gyumri Basic School No. 41; Hayk Adamyan, a seventh-grade student at Quantum College; Vache Kocharyan, an eighth-grade student at Quantum College; and Levon Hayrapetyan, an eighth-grade student at AYB School.
Vache Kocharyan and Mamikon Hambaryan each earned silver medals, while Levon Hayrapetyan and Hayk Adamyan secured bronze medals, giving Armenia a total of four awards.

The national team was coached by Alex Grigoryan of Quantum College and Tigran Matsakyan of the A. Shahinyan Physics and Mathematics Specialized School. Armen Andreasyan of Yerevan State University also served on the Olympiad's International Committee.
The result improves on Armenia's performance at last year's European Junior Olympiad in Informatics in Shumen, Bulgaria, where the team won one silver and two bronze medals.
The latest success adds to Armenia's growing record in international STEM competitions, where its students have consistently earned recognition for excellence in mathematics, programming, and computer science.
