The Armenian Report was present at Zvartnots International Airport and spoke with the athletes as they arrived home.
Emma Poghosyan told The Armenian Report that she won her first medal of the year at the championship despite having undergone a long treatment for a leg injury. “I finally succeeded,” she said with pride and relief.
Another weightlifter, Liana Gyurjyan, told that this victory is the start of what she hopes will be a series of career-long successes.
Anna Amroyan also spoke with The Armenian Report, saying that after being injured during the World Championships, she was unable to train for a long time before this competition. “Despite that, I am satisfied with my results and will prepare for the next competitions,” she said.
It’s important to add that Team Armenia is returning from this championship with seven gold medals.
The athletes’ strong performances at the European Championships once again demonstrated the power and determination of Armenia’s young weightlifters. Despite facing injuries and setbacks, they returned home with pride and motivation to continue representing Armenia on the international stage.
