Armenia has celebrated another major victory in weightlifting, as national team member Liana Gyurjyan won a gold medal at the European Under-23 Championships in Durrës, Albania. The 23-year-old’s victory is the fifth gold medal for Armenia in the ongoing European Youth and U23 Weightlifting Championships.

Competing in the women’s 86 kg category, Gyurjyan showed exceptional strength and consistency throughout the competition. In the snatch event, she successfully lifted 95 kg, 100 kg, and 102 kg, securing the top position. Moving on to the clean and jerk, she lifted 125 kg and 130 kg, once again taking first place in that segment.

With a combined total of 232 kg, Liana Gyurjyan was crowned European Under-23 Champion, adding another prestigious title to Armenia’s growing list of achievements in international weightlifting.

Her success shows the continued dominance of Armenian athletes at the continental level, as the country’s young lifters continue to deliver outstanding performances across multiple weight categories.

The Armenian national team’s coaching staff for this competition includes Head Coach Artashes Nersisyan, Assistant Coach Taron Tovmasyan, and Personal Coach Ashot Danielyan, who have played a key role in guiding the athletes to success.
