Azerbaijan Is Blocking $500,000 Worth of Humanitarian Aid From Entering Artsakh From Armenian Fund

100 tons of urgent humanitarian aid from Hayastan All Armenian Fund is currently being held in the Armenian city of Goris.

Due to the Azerbaijani blocking of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, it is not possible to deliver the aid to the people of Artsakh.

Negotiations are being held with the command of the Russian peacekeeping troops in order to deliver the humanitarian cargo to the Republic of Artsakh in a crisis situation.

If and when the aid gets transported to Artsakh, it will be stored at the Ministry of Social Development and Migration of the Republic of Artsakh and from there it will be distributed free of charge to socially vulnerable groups according to the Ministry's lists.

In light of the ongoing Azeri blockade of the Lachin Corridor, Armenia Fund USA held an emergency Board Meeting in late December to discuss how to best provide those affected with the highest level of humanitarian aid possible.

Since then, Armenia Fund, Inc. USA has contributed $500,000 USD in humanitarian and medical aid to Artsakh.

Azerbaijan is keeping the Lachin Corridor blocked since December 12, 2022. The corridor is Nagorno Karabakh’s (Artsakh) only road to Armenia and the rest of the world. The blockade has caused an ongoing humanitarian crisis with widespread shortages of essential supplies such as food, medicine, gas, electricity, etc.
